Jimmy’s 10k Marshals Needed
HELP WANTED
We are holding a Jimmy’s 10k marshals meeting in the East Down AC club rooms (location map) on Wednesday 9th March at 7:30pm and would appreciate all those wishing to volunteer as a marshal or indeed a member of your family or friend to attend the meeting. I would like all members that are not running on the day or assisting in the race day’s organisation to volunteer for a marshal position. It is very important that the marshals receive a briefing and know where to stand and what to do.
Many thanks
Mark McDowell

BELFAST MARATHON
As I stood on the start line of the Belfast City Marathon outside City Hall on Monday past I couldn’t help but remember that it was almost exactly 30 years ago that I stood on the same start line awaiting the signal for the start of my first ever attempt at the 26.2 miles distance. Incredibly I was experiencing all the same feelings of nervous excitement, a mixture of adrenaline and apprehension, as the 10 second countdown began as all those years ago. Continue reading
Omagh Half Marathon
A bit like buses, you wait for ages for a half marathon and then along comes three of them at once. Omagh was the third in as many weekends, following the Dune and Larne equivalents, and while perhaps suffering most from the weather conditions, nonetheless provided a quality race to equal that of its predecessors. Once again the 3 African visitors Continue reading
