Registration for the Pre-Jimmy’s 10k, Junior races is now open.

These races are open to all children, whether they are a member of an athletic club or not.

Opening of New Clubrooms
An historic and auspicious occasion in the history of East Down AC took place on Saturday morning when recent days and weeks of feverish activity brought to an end 2 years of planning and preparation for the grand opening of its new Clubrooms on the Ballydugan Industrial Estate, its first ever home. Thanks to all those who turned up the previous Saturday to perform what was the equivalent of TV’s 60 Minute Makeover though it took much longer than that, and to everyone who helped in any way in recent weeks. BEN DEARG COAST 10K
In weather which had even the weathermen bringing in their seaweed the 5th running of the Ben Dearg Coast 10K took place on Sunday afternoon. No that this was the real surprise but that 55 brave runners turned out to face the challenge, supplemented by another 12 in the 5K and 6 in the 3K. Given that most of this latter group were primary school children it was indeed inspiring to watch them battle the elements – and win. Continue reading
