Have Your Say on Play in your Area!

Here is your chance to have a say in play for children and young people in your area! 

Newry, Mourne and Down District Council in conjunction with PlayBoard are carrying out an important consultation with community organisations, children and young people and parents/carers on the development of a 5 year Play Strategy.

In order to get the best play opportunities for the children and young people in your area we need your views on:

  • Existing levels of play provision
  • The barriers that prevent children and families from accessing play, and
  • The steps council and other partners could take to improve access to play opportunities for all.

As part of the consultation we have set up 3 survey monkey questionnaires. We would be grateful if you could help in the following ways:

  • Complete the Community organisation survey on behalf of those you represent
  • Please share the links and encourage your members and those you work with to complete the relevant survey (for example through social media, newsletters, publicising at events etc.)
  • If you work directly with children, young people or parents/carers, please encourage and support them to complete a survey either online or in paper form. Should you require paper copies of the survey these can be made available by contacting with an indication of the number you would require.

Play is a key part of children and young people’s lives and it is critical that as many people from across the council area have their say in this vitally important issue.  We would appreciate any help you could provide.  Please note the consultation will close at 12.00 Noon on 7th December 2016.
