150 m (open Y8&9) – 7.00pm
150 metres – 7:10pm
Long Jump (incl open Y8&9) – 7.15pm
Hammer – 7.15pm
600 metres – 7.30pm
Javelin – 7.40pm
3,000 metres – 7.50pm
Shot – 7.50pm
300 metres – 8.15pm

Open to all male & female athletes 13 and over, although younger athletes may guest in any (age allowed) events. Races graded on pbs and age. Women’s races first, fastest go last race. 3k may be combined (1-race). Electronic timing. Exact start times subject to progress on event/race running order. Max spike length 6mm. All abilities welcome.

Entry on the night: £3 per event, £5 for two or more events

Track training session

The following are details of a trip to Bangor running track. If you would like to attend, I would appreciate you emailing me at Email:peter_e_morgan@btinternet.com or register your interest with a coach on club night.

Venue: Bangor track.
Date: Monday 22/06/15
Transport: minibus
Pickup and drop off: EDAC clubhouse
Time: depart 6pm sharp – home 9pm approx
Open to: Juniors, year 8+ (limited numbers, if oversubscribed selection criteria will be used, you will be informed if you have a place on the bus or not)
Cost: usual £1
Footwear: 5mm max spikes may be worn but normal trainers are fine
Clothing: usual sportswear (waterproof or wind proof jacket may be useful)

MOURNE MOUNTAIN ULTRA MARATHONS

I wondered why Michael Cultra’s name was missing from the top 50 finishers in Thursday nights Hill and Dale race, and only discovered the reason on Saturday afternoon when I heard that he had been “resting” for his assault on the Mourne Way Ultra Marathon. By that time of course he and his fellow conspirators, Simon McGrattan, Oonagh Brétéché and Linda Cunningham had already been on the go for around 7 hours. Continue reading

Otium Leisure Consultancy has been appointed by Down District Council to carry out a feasibility study of athletics facilities in Down District Council. It is essential that, as a member of East Down Athletics Club you complete this short questionnaire in order to support our campaign to get a running track.
