Where we train

We have several main training sites: East Down AC’s Club Rooms, Ballymote Sports and Wellbeing Centre and Down High School (summer months only). The other venues we have training sessions are at Downshire Hospital grounds, Tollymore Forest Park, Quoile area etc.

East Down AC’s Club Rooms, Downpatrick

The reception area is used as a meeting place for both seniors and Juniors (post primary – 16 yrs) prior to outdoor sessions.
The main hall is used as an indoor training venue for the Juniors (post primary – 16 yrs).
The smaller side hall is used as a core workout and stretch following the Senior’s Thursday night session.

Ballymote Sports and Wellbeing Centre

Down High School

The grass playing field is used as an outdoor venue for the Juniors (post primary – 16 yrs).

Other Public Location
The Downshire Hospital grounds (inside loop is approx. 1km and outside loop is approx. 1 mile), Tollymore Forrest Park and Quoile River area (runners generally meet at the Cricket Club) are some of the locations that are used to train. These locations are fully accessible to the public i.e. vehicles, equestrian, dog walkers etc. and should be respected so.
